Unrivalled infrastructure
From 2007, Leipzig Halle Airport have two parallel runways. After
the reconstruction of today's southern runway, a parallel runway system
will be formed together with the new northern runway, which is also
3,600 m long. Being one of the very few airports which allow
unrestricted operations, Leipzig/Halle is currently being transformed
into a hub for international air cargo traffic and logistics companies.
Availability of slots, permanent readiness for operation for
intercontinental flights and available development areas are the major advantages compared with competitors in Europe.

region of extraordinary growth. A number of international firms in the
logistics, automotive, chemical and pharmaceutical industries have
chosen this region as a location for major investments thanks to the
excellent infrastructure, professional and unbureaucratic business
establishment policy pursued by the cities of Leipzig and Halle and the States of Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt.
