Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding to Present its Services at the “transport logistic 2009”

The network of companies will once again be represented at the world’s largest logistics fair. One of the guests at the Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding stand will be German Transport Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee during the Air Cargo Europe exhibition.

Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding will be presenting its services at the “transport logistic 2009” exhibition in Munich on 12-15 May with its subsidiaries – Leipzig/Halle Airport and Dresden International Airport, the ground services and freight provider, PortGround, and the freight broker, EasternAirCargo. During the special Air Cargo Europe exhibition, the companies will be advertising their infrastructure and logistics services on stand 314 in Hall A4. After the exhibition has been opened, the network of companies will welcome many representatives from the world of business, including the German Transport Minister, Wolfgang Tiefensee.

The Air Cargo Europe opens up access to a two-day conference programme for the companies; experts from this sector from all over the world will discuss the current economic situation on 13 and 14 May – and the future of the air freight industry. Dierk Näther, Managing Director of Leipzig/Halle Airport will take part in a panel discussion on the subject of “Cargo on trains and planes – Future synergies and multimodal transportation in Europe”.

Representatives from Leipzig/Halle Airport will also take part in a panel discussion entitled “Air Freight in Central Germany” organised by the Netzwerk Logistik Leipzig/Halle e.V. and the Leipzig branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This is part of the extensive supporting programme at transport logistic 2009.

Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding is the overall trade name used by Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG, a company operated by the public sector. The group has several subsidiary companies: Leipzig/Halle Airport, Dresden International Airport, PortGround and EasternAirCargo.

The group handled 96,892 aircraft movements, 4.32 million passengers and 442.750 tonnes of freight in 2008. The group directly employs 970 members of staff and trainees. More than 7000 people are employed at the Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG business sites in various companies and public authorities.
