Change on the Executive Board of Central German Airports Group
Mr. Volkmar Stein (62), sole member of the Executive Board of Central German Airports Group (Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG), will retire as planned as of 31 December 2006. Against this background, the Supervisory Board of Central German Airports Group today appointed Mr. Markus Kopp (39), currently Head of Executive Office Aviation Services and Human Resources of the Lufthansa Group of Companies, as new member of the Executive Board of Central German Airports Group with effect from 1 May 2006.
As of 1 January 2007, Mr. Kopp will lead Central German Airports Group as sole member of the Executive Board. Mr. Stein has been appointed by the Supervisory Board in turn to Chief Executive for the transitional period from 1 May 2006 until his retirement.
The Central German Airports Group (Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG) is a publicly-owned company. The groups' aim is to develop Germany's central-region airports, serving their current and future needs. The group includes the subsidiaries Leipzig/Halle Airport, Dresden Airport, PortGround and EasternAirCargo. With revenues of about 80 million Euro, the group in 2005 will handle in total 75 thousand air traffic movements as well as 3.9 million passengers and 23.3 thousand tons of cargo.
